Print: Appalachia Waits for Spring

from $32.00

Last year’s leaves are all but gone, while the rhododendrons, fresh and green as ever, shine and shimmer in the sunlight that’s getting slowly warmer day by day. The color green never fully leaves the Appalachian foothills, even in winter.

Gouache on cold pressed watercolor paper.

Available on archival quality velvet paper or stretched canvas.
Original: 11 × 14 (available - email to inquire)

The snow has melted and the sun is getting brighter as the mountains wait for spring to arrive. A gentle stream flows past a lush rhododendron grove on one side, and a trail on the other. The forest, bathed in sunlight and pastel colors, is almost ready to come alive again.

Based on a trail in Pisgah National Forest, near Brevard, NC.
