Early fall at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains is sunny and bright and spectacularly colorful. Some trees already began to turn golden, while the rhododendrons shine a bright teal even in the shadows. And it’s warm, so, so warm. These quiet spots along the mountain rivers are good for the soul.
