Even on sunny days, the higher elevations of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be covered in fog.
Except it’s not fog - it’s actual clouds moving over the mountaintops.
Craggy Gardens, and the trail to it, looks straight out of a fairytale when clouds are passing over the ridge. Especially in summer, when the wildflowers of various colors line the trail, cover the forest floor, and collect delicate dew.
This is one of my favorite places along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I come here to clear my head and immerse myself in a little bit of nature magic.
